A final walkthrough is your last opportunity to inspect a property before closing on a home. It helps ensure the property is in the agreed-upon condition and that any negotiated repairs have been completed properly.

Bring Your Purchase Agreement

Review your contract beforehand so you can confirm that all agreed repairs, appliances, fixtures, and inclusions are still in the home.

Test All Major Systems

Check that the air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical outlets, lights, and appliances are working correctly.

Inspect Repairs Carefully

If the seller agreed to make repairs, verify that they were completed properly and request receipts if needed.

Check for Damage or Missing Items

Look for new damage that may have occurred after the inspection or during the seller’s move-out process. Make sure included appliances and fixtures remain in place.

Run Water and Flush Toilets

Turn on faucets, check water pressure, look for leaks under sinks, and flush toilets to confirm plumbing is functioning properly.

Open Windows and Doors

Make sure windows, locks, garage doors, and entry doors open and close smoothly and securely.

Bring a Checklist

A written checklist helps you stay organized and ensures you don’t miss important details during the walkthrough.

A thorough final walkthrough provides peace of mind before closing day and helps avoid unexpected surprises after you move into your new home.
